Think Pink, Think Zeta!
Philanthropy is a huge part of Zeta Tau Alpha. We pride ourselves on raising money for Breast Cancer Education and Awareness. Throughout the year the Gamma Mu Chapter hosts several events that go towards helping us carry out our goal to spread awareness in hopes for a cure.
This year the Gamma Mu Chapter will be accepting online donations at www.zetataualpha.org/ztaomaha
We have volunteered at the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, and also plans several events throughout the year such as:
Think Pink Week, a campus wide event where the ladies of Gamma Mu decorate the UNO campus with pink reminders of breast cancer education and awareness and host fundraiser events, such as our annual pancake feed throughout the week.
The Gamma Mu chapter also prepares Care Packages for victims who are dealing with breast cancer. After the packages are put together, the Gamma Mu ladies deliver the care packages to Methodist Hospital's breast cancer center.
Zeta Tau Alpha also sponsors an annual event, "Stand Up, Stand Out" which is extended to fellow Greek women and local high school women to attend. The event features speakers who focus on reinvigorating each woman’s self confidence and empowering each woman to stand up and stand out for what they believe in. The event also focuses on defying negative stereotypes that are found in the media.
