Chapter Philanthropy and Service

"Breast Cancer Education and Awareness serves as the cornerstone of Zeta Tau Alpha's National Philanthropy. Our commitment to this cause stems from the pervasive impact it has had on our lives, with nearly all members touched by it in some capacity. Our overarching goal is to provide comprehensive education and unwavering advocacy for both survivors and thrivers of this disease. Recognizing the far-reaching effects of breast cancer, we have witnessed firsthand the resilience of our loved ones in their battles against it.

In our efforts to raise awareness, the Gamma Mu chapter actively participates in the Making Strides Event each October and organizes a biannual Think Pink Week/Month on the University of Nebraska Omaha Campus. Furthermore, we organize engaging community events such as Pie-A-Zeta and a Grilled Cheese Feed, with all proceeds directed towards the American Cancer Society.

With a national statistic indicating that 1 in 8 women will confront breast cancer in their lifetime, we are resolute in our belief that collective action can effect change. Our rallying cry, 'Fight until one in eight becomes none in eight', encapsulates our unwavering commitment to this imperative cause. It is our fervent hope to inspire others to join us in championing Breast Cancer Education and Awareness." - Ellary Young, Director of Philanthropy
